House of Representatives Committee files. 1947-2014 [State Archives Series 2361]: these are organized chronologically by General Assembly, then alphabetically by committee. The files may contain transcripts of hearings, reports, voting records, copies of bill and reference materials.
Senate Committee files. 1957-2014 [State Archives Series 1862]: these are organized chronologically by General Assembly, then alphabetically by committee. The files may contain transcripts of hearings, reports, voting records, copies of bill and reference materials.
Bill analysis files [microform]. 1961-2006 [State Archives Series 1939]: these contain status sheets, which include the title of the bill, date it was introduced, name(s) of committee(s) the bill was referred to, date the bill was passed by each house and an explanation of the bill.
Bill files. 1951-1984 [State Archives Series 2092]: these may include copies of proposed bills, analyses of bills and reports of impact studies.
Printed bills and acts. 1835-1996 [State Archives Series 1217]: these may include various drafts of the bill. This series may be the place to find the bill as introduced.
Enrolled bills, 1st-115th, 117th-118th, and 121st-133rd sessions, General Assembly. 1803-1984, 1987-1991, 1995-2020 [State Archives Series 577]: this is the copy of the signed bill filed with the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.
